Books: Some Kind of Magic

Some Kind of Magic is by Theresa Weir. I'm not sure if I've read any of her books before. This book was number 14 on the book reading list for the summer.

It was interesting. I can't rave about it, but it had all the elements of a typical romance. Nothing unusual and no sudden twists. It did have some slow bits. The only thing that had to do with the title is a voodoo doll.

Premise? Claire who lives in the middle of nowhere (okay, Fallon, Idaho) with snow and a cabin. She is carjacked by a supposed criminal who survived a plane crash nearby. Dylan is injured so she takes care of him instead of turning him in (hey, she doesn't have a phone). She had received a voodoo doll from her friend for her birthday and is convinced it has some effect on this man - who she's started to take a liking to.

Many who have read the book like the depth Weir gives to the characters (which is why I might have felt the slow bits) but she does a decent job of weaving a romance.

this reminds me of a book called Crazy in Love. I read it a couple of months ago, and it's about a heiress who pretends to get kidnapped, but ends up actually getting kidnapped and falling in love with the guy who kinda kidnaps her (but he's not a bad guy).

i know...it sounds confusing, but it's pretty good.
