SPOILER ALERT! Please do not read this post if you are like B and don't like hints. I love spoilers. They make me think, and the show episodes don't always turn out like I think. So are you sufficiently warned? Here goes...
Kristin of Watch with Kristin at EOnline was doing this whole 12 days of Lost-mas thing in which she dished on spoilers for Lost. Of course each one of her spoils was on a different page. Major PITA. So I compiled them all here for your enjoyment and speculation.
1. Shannon couldn’t be in the beginning of the new Lost season (Many of the characters were asked to return. Maggie Grace had other commitments.) so it will become part of Shannon and Boone’s back story. Sawyer will kiss either Kate or Juliet within the first few episodes. Um, that didn’t sound much like a spoiler to me.
2. We either find out that John is related to Charles and Jack or John does something really strange regarding another character and says, “I’m sorry you had to see me like that.” Try to remember where John was in the season ender.
3. Sayid either dies or kills Jack. Try to remember where these two characters were when the season ended.
4. There is a new Big Bad who supposedly killed John, killed Jacob, is the smoke monster, and wants to go home. This may not be entirely accurate as Kristin wrote in code.
5. Desmond will be in this season early on and will appear in a scene with another character. This encounter is supposed to be surprising.
6. A long-known dark, handsome character will die within the first four hours.
A character we were introduced to on the first day of the show will almost die by his own hand, but Jack will save him.
7. The new others, the ones from the newer crash, are on the island to:
kill Ben (sent by Charles), destroy the time travel mechanism (sent by Jacob’s nemesis), protect Jacob, OR revive John.
8. One character will have a message for everyone and convey it through Miles.
9. There are five quotes here from the new season by 4 people:
Person #1 - Am I alive?
Person #1 again - I was supposed to die.
Person #2 - I was killed by an _3_ __6___.
Person #3 - It turned out she did not want out.
Person #4 - I wanted you to be able to go home.
10. Three main characters will be “apprehended by authorities.” I used her exact words because I’m not sure how she interprets apprehended. These are three separate events.
11. Juliet survives - Juliet does not survive - Kate and Sawyer kiss - Kate and Sawyer flirt - Juliet and Sawyer kiss - Jack and Sayid touch lips - Sawyer does something to make you cry. One of those was false.
12. For #6, not Hurley. For #10, one of these is true, Charlie is arrested for drugs, Sayid is arrested for espionage/murder, or Sawyer for being a grifter. Most, if not all, of the above is at the beginning of the season.
Of course I have my own spoiler sources. One character who is supposed to be dead is still alive. The difference is that person was described as pretty which doesn’t include John. I think it is Juliet. I think she may be Person #1 in Kristin’s #9.
A scene involves a pregnant Claire, Jack and Kate. And they aren’t on the island. There is also a scene with Claire toting a gun.
Lastly, there is a school in which John and Ben are teachers, and formerly dead daughter Alex is a student.
Sounds to me like that explosion changed some things in the future and many of the seemingly incongruous scenes are the result. An alternate timeline.
Groundhog Day.
BTW, 8PM is the summary, which we all may need to watch considering how long they’ve made us wait.
PS - so incredibly bummed about Ugly Betty. It had really picked up this season. :(

Miscellaneous: Aaack!
I guess it serves me right for making odd news part of my Yahoo page. This is just one more reminder that we're off track and need to figure out how to get the train back on rails.
Story here.
What gets me is how calm he was afterwards. Yikes!

Books: To Catch a Cheat
To Catch a Cheat by Kelley St. John is loaded with sexual innuendo and low on plot. I really liked the concept. Marissa had a lot of cheaters in her life so she makes a website to out cheaters. The first guy she posts about is still around. He decides to launch his own site and makes the two of them into competitors. You'd have to read to see how the two are forced to be around each other.
And that's just it. They are forced to be around each other. All there is to focus on is their attraction. I liked some of the build up between the characters, but when the book was over I didn't feel like it was a keeper. The book seemed to need more. Reading the reviews at Amazon helped me see issues I probably would have just ignored otherwise, though.
If you choose to read, just beware. This book is more than just fluffy.

TV: Chuck!
How could I not dedicate a post to the three hour marathon I participated in this past Monday?
Chuck is back!
Highlights...
Kung fu Chuck.
Angel de la Muerte.
"Trust me."
Morgan and Carina lovin'.
Dead Emmett.
"I love you."
Lowlights...
Only Kung fu? Okay, a little surgery, but I want more!
That's it. Yes, there is only one lowlight.... it's Chuck!

Miscellaneous: The Princess and the Frog
Working from Thanksgiving until my break the week of Christmas on my project left me little time for Christmas shopping (or posting). B gave me a morning to run down to Wal-mart on Christmas Eve (I know, the horrors). I bought a pair of red heart sleep pants for A because she has insisted on running around the house in her underwear against my claims that the house is not that warm. Unfortunately, I hadn't found anything for M.
Lo and behold, a wall of The Princess and the Frog merchandise (= clothing and paraphernalia). As I searched for a decent little t-shirt, a woman was rifling through every rack and warned me. "These shirts run really small..." she started and proceeded to tell me her tale about the lack of merchandise at the Wal-mart closest to her and how a 7/8 didn't fit her 4/5 granddaughter. In the end I ditched the shirt and went for a coloring book.
This experience led me to believe that the movie is good, which is a little different than what I've had experience with on the net. The critics mostly love it (like the woman at Wal-mart). It has a good story line that is more in line with the traditional Disney movies. Less flash and more story. It was sweet and a little less than expected in that, as the commercials have shown, Tiana (the main character) turns into a frog instead of her turning the frog back into a prince.
The grumbling I've heard is coming from some comments about how Tiana's prince isn't also African American. I can see that point entirely. Where is the representation of the good black couple? All the other Disney princesses have theirs. Isn't a black man good enough to be a prince? But I also see the flipside. Why can't Tiana fall in love with someone because that's who she loves? Why does he have to be black? There were so many other reasons people were unhappy, Dr. Facilier is black (he is the evil black while the prince is good "white") or Ray's dialect for example.
For those reasons alone I was hesitant to see the movie. What would others think of me for liking it? But see it I did. It was cute. I'm not blown over, but neither am I unhappy with it or how the characters were portrayed. Dr. Facilier may have been black, but the frog hunters and Prince Naveen's valet were white. Tiana's parents were a model set of parents. Let's face it, Prince Naveen was...well not quite white. His race doesn't match Tiana's, but it didn't match Charlotte's either. I could go on, but I'm going to get to the point. If you know me, then you understand me saying the match of Naveen and Tiana doesn't bother me at all. Don't let what others think keep you from seeing the film.

Chocolate: Tsaratana 61% Cacao
It's good solid chocolate. Those were almost my exact words when I broke into this bar on THE holiday. It was in my stocking :) It has just the right balance of milk chocolate and dark chocolate falling happily in between. Good texture, no bitterness left on the tongue, but not too sweet. Lovely.

Books: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Have you ever had the misfortune of having your favorite TV show cancelled or end? It isn't pretty is it? It downright sucks. One of my very favorites (I'm watching right now and have the entire DVD set :)) is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It is one of the best shows ever. I'm completely biased. I was so unhappy when it stopped. All that time spent speculating the new big bad or laughing again about the best lines was empty.
::sniff::
Then my wonderful B (Heh, B) bought 5 Buffy the Vampire Slayer graphic novels. I whipped through the first 3 on Christmas Day. Tried to pace myself with Book 4 and haven't yet read Book 5. The books pick up where the series ended, where Sunnydale is a giant pit. It took me some time to warm up to the books, but that was okay because it took Book 1 for it to feel like Buffy. The books can do a lot of what the TV could not. Like poor Dawn! The pictures are awesome. Everything is new and shiny...well except for some returning characters ;)
Best? Looking for the new big bad or laughing about the lines! Yea books!

Resolutions
Did you make one?
I didn't, but I should have.
I will clean the house.
I will clean out my closet.
I will use the Wii Fit.
I will clean out and wash my car.
Those sound really good. But how about...
I will beat my current score on Scramble.
I will buy a new pair of jeans.
I will buy a new laptop.
I will finish that story I'm writing.
Too selfish, huh?
I will hug the kiddos more often.
I will tell the B that I love him.
I will figure out how to cook at least one meal for the family.
I will write thank you cards.
Eh, this is all stuff I should be doing anyway. What resolution? It's life!
