Men: "Dr. Jack Hodgins"

Geek/Nerd: Dr. Jack Hodgins
Show/Movie: Bones
Actor Name: T.J. Thyne (Thomas Joseph Thyne)
Year of Birth: 1975
Status: Single
Height: 5'7"
Fun Fact: More later...

Dr. Jack Hodgins, better known as one of the squints on Bones, is your scientific nerd. Hodgins, as he is called on the show, is an entymologist and gets his kicks out of dirt, molds, and numerous bugs. The delight on his face gives one the creepy crawlies. He also reminds me of the The Lone Gunman from X-Files with his attention to conspiracy theories.

ThyneIt was the beginning of the third season, when he and coworker Angela Montenegro got together, that I began to see the actor as being in any way attractive. Compare the scruffy looking guy in the first picture with the smooth character in the second picture. Although I think T.J. Thyne may be growing his hair out again, I will never look at the guy the same way I did. Those eyes are gorgeous.

Those conspiracy theories may filter over into real life as there is nearly nothing on his personal life and thus a complete lack of fun facts. Check his IMDb though and see all the shows he's been in.

Chocolate: Blizzards

There was trouble in paradise. A wasn't completing her homework as she should have. If you know me that was a big blow to my ego for obvious reasons. However, I was able to avert disaster by rewarding the turkey with ice cream each week for a homework job well done. M wasn't left out. That turkey wouldn't get dressed until 20 minutes before I left for work. If she's dressed by 6am she gets ice cream too.

So to my point...I've been indulging in Dairy Queen. Never fear I've shed enough pounds to go shopping this weekend :o) The three blizzards I've had recently are cookie dough, mint oreo, and turtle.

Cookie Dough - I love cookie dough ice cream and couldn't wait to get it in a blizzard. It didn't live up to my expectations. I can't describe it. It just tasted kind of bland even with the cookie dough bits. If I try this one again I'm going to request chocolate ice cream.

Mint Oreo - This one was fairly tasty. My favorite blizzard is the oreo so I knew it would taste good. The problem was with the mint. It was a syrup which didn't get blended properly. Let me tell you, straight syrup is nasty.

Turtle - I was pleasantly surprised by the turtle. The best part was getting the little bits of caramel. It was also pretty well mixed and I could taste the nuts throughout the ice cream.

I know this wasn't really a chocolate post, but the most chocolate I've had for awhile has been a bite sized Snickers and an extra large Hershey Kiss.

Books: All Time Favs

Another Facebook idea surfaces. I saw someone's list of the books that will stick with you for life. She listed all the heavy thought provoking books that I can't fathom reading. The idea was great so I'm making my list with books that will stick with me because they are (practically) brainless and fun!

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
3. Diary of a Wombat
4. Indian in the Cupboard
5. Where the Sidewalk Ends
6. Dune
7. The Hobbit
8. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
9. Anne of Green Gables
10. Grimm Fairy Tales

Hmmm, seems I'm firmly entrenched in my childhood. I have a feeling there are more books...

TV: NO Gabba Gabba!

The kiddos have taken to torture. They are evil, I tell you, evil. They wait until I'm in the family room. They wait until I've settled into the sofa cushions with the comfy pillow on my back. I have a book and I've settled into it, oblivious. Then they hit me with it. This eerie sound comes at me like a some trip in the sixties and I hear these creepy foot steps. I look up and nearly faint at the sight of this big face with oversized black rimmed glasses topped by a fuzzy orange monstrosity. It speaks.

Yo Gabba Gabba

Run for your life! It's orange string bean man and his boom box of creepy toys. I mean one has the name Toodee and another looks suspiciously like...it just doesn't help that it's one-eyed. You can look for yourself. And the orange string bean has a name - DJ Lance Rock.

I do understand that the show is geared for little ones (although the description at Nick Jr. says 1 and up), but I can't stand it. I CAN'T STAND IT! I guess I shouldn't have said that to A & M, because they deliberately put that horror on TV when I'm in the room ($^#&$* DirecTV). I have to climb out of my comfy corner and flee.

It's worse than Barney.

Chocolate: Lindor Milk

The milk chocolate aversion has definitely ended. I received a small heart of six Lindt/Lindor Milk red wrapped chocolate balls. They no longer exist - at least in my house. I really like the shell versus the creamier inside. I know there should be more chocolate to the chocolate (lots 'o sugar). It's my dark side showing. They were a treat!

Books: Nothing to Read

The heading isn't quite right. There isn't nothing to read, just nothing new. I've still been reading the "in Death" series. I got stuck because I didn't have a book and wasn't sure I wanted to buy it. But I caved and got it this weekend though I've only made it to chapter five. I also got a few very cheap fluff books, too. Those I read. ;o)

As I've said before March is going to be a very busy month. I don't anticipate reading much more. So basically this a post of me whining about having nothing new to gush about. Yeah. I think so, too.

TV: Life on Mars, Eleventh Hour, and Reaper

I don't watch Life on Mars, the Americanized BBC show in which a man gets trapped back in the 70s. B does. And he is not very happy that it's been cancelled. I know it had some interesting tidbits in it. Like there was actually a reason why he went back into the past and he's supposed to figure it out. I'm bringing this up because they are doing something we don't often get with cancelled shows - they're going to wrap it up. Meaning, they won't really leave their fans hanging when the series ends. They will show all the scheduled episodes and give the fans an ending. I wish they would do that for all of them - The Dead Zone, The 4400, Veronica Mars, and Dresden Files - to name just a few.

I've been watching the Eleventh Hour. Another Americanized British show, it's about a biophysicist, Dr. Hood, who is a consultant with the FBI helping them solve scientific or seemingly paranormal cases. He works with another person, Special Agent Young. The premise is something I'm definitely interested in. However, I've watched several episodes now and I'm not that impressed. The actor who portrays Dr. Hood has a weird voice. It almost sounds like he's trying too hard. I believe they are trying to create some drama, but it doesn't quite hit hard enough. I'm just about ready to call it quits, but they've added a new character with personality - Special Agent Lee. We'll see.

Lastly, I just wanted to point out that Reaper is back. If you follow the story line you know that the main character, Sam, is trying to get out of his deal with the devil. So far he hasn't been successful, but that isn't stopping him from trying again now. The best part of the first episode for me was the very end in which the devil fails to get a rise out of Sam who is too happy about getting his soul back. The devil is always doing crazy things and Sam usually freaks out. For B, it was Sock wanting to sleep with his "sister." Men.

Miscellaneous: Hatchlings

Facebook. Yes, I joined, collected friends, posted pictures, and currently let people know how boring my life really is. I'm pretty good about ignoring requests and refusing to poke, but you know what has me on Facebook every day? Hatchlings.

Apparently, one of the applications is all about collecting eggs, Easter eggs. They come in different colors and have special edition eggs that fit with special occasions or holidays. These eggs have since morphed into hatching eggs. Little creatures appear after about a half an hour and need to be fed. A little meter line below the creature tells you if they are happy (well fed). If they aren't taken care of they run away. Which isn't such a bad thing when you collect 128 (The limit for the number of hatchlings you can keep at one time) because it means you'd need to find 128 eggs or more every day.

Of course I'm addicted. I collect and feed my hatchlings hoping I will get a special edition egg or find an egg to incubate (how you get a hatchling) that I don't already have. I collect eggs by going to profiles of those with the same Hatchling application. They have "baskets" which are just patches of grass. The person who got me hooked on Hatchlings has a ton of people signed up. So she just visits all their profiles and collects. I have 4. I've been able to keep my little creatures fed by going to a site with links to baskets. They're like little Tamagotchis. I loved my Tamagotchi.

I'm trying to get this cute purple armadillo now...

Tired!

Oh so tired. And looking at the month ahead, I don't think that will change. I didn't get my Mom's Family Calendar this year, and I have a bazillion appointments of some kind or another this month plus a few I have yet to make. So overwhelmed am I that I neglected to put up my post yesterday as scheduled. (Or last MONTH for that matter.) So is it just me? Or is everyone that busy this month?
